The Mayor of Baragiano
Giuseppe Fernando Galizia
“It is with great joy that we reopen the Archeoparco of Basileus, a project born with me way back in 2008 and which today presents itself in a renewed guise to celebrate and tell – along a path featuring scenic installations – the history of Baragiano, in the archaic age, and of its distinctive economic and cultural development starting from the end of the 7th century BC.
Reopening the Archeoparco has meant, on the one hand, wanting to give back to the local community some important intangible memory heritage and, on the other hand, giving life to a new and original tourist offer which, at the same time, proposes a path to enhance the archaeological discoveries brought to light during the various excavation campaigns in Baragiano. It is also enriched with a further recreational-educational element represented by the first classical culture-themed educational Escape Room in Italy: ArcheoXcape.
All I have to do is welcome, on behalf of the community I represent, those who wish to visit this land steeped in history. We guarantee a journey of discovery full of emotions, in the welcoming warmth Basilicata can offer.”
